Archaeological excavations revealed remains from the Roman period, Islamic structures and the ruins of the former 16th-century forge that gave the hotel its name. From Moorish Lisbon and the Pombaline reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake to the city of today, different eras remain present.
History is part of the experience.
True to this legacy, Ferraria XVI preserves archaeological elements integrated into the stay itself, creating a unique dialogue between past and present.

A building reconstructed after the 1755 earthquake using Pombaline anti-seismic techniques, preserving archaeological remains integrated into the space.

Interiors inspired by the building's historical heritage, combining archaeological references, contemporary materials and elements connected to the city's memory.
